The 1971 Corvette was mostly a carry over year from 1970 due to labor strikes inside GM. While production was low, it gave workers at the St. Louis plant more time to focus on improving quality rather than making changes. Some Corvettes while marked as 1971 models, actually featured parts from the 1970 model year due to supply shortages related to the strikes. The beautiful Bridgehampton blue convertible you see here reflects this increase in quality, as the body fit and finish is better than any other C3 Corvette we've seen. All the body panels line up nicely, the doors shut easily with just a nudge, and the chrome bumpers line up with an exactness missing in a lot of earlier C3's. The 1968-1972 chrome bumper Corvettes are increasing in value quickly, and one can easily see why when looking at the beautiful flowing lines of this roadster. The paint finish is excellent with a great degree of gloss, and the dark blue color is set off by the white vinyl convertible top, white LT-1 graphics on the hood, and the white line bias ply tires wrapped around classic Chevrolet rallye wheels. Under the hood of this awesome roadster is the legendary solid lifter LT-1 small block. Using a special camshaft, higher compression ratio, free flowing heads, and a factory aluminum high rise intake with single four barrel carburetor, this little mouse put out 330 horsepower and 340 ft. lbs. of torque. This was sixty horsepower more than the standard 350 engine produced, and the torque curve was as flat as Nebraska. All this power and torque goes through a Muncie M21 close ratio 4-speed and on to a limited slip differential with a 3.55 ratio. Four wheels power assisted disc brakes bring all this go to a woah with ease. Independent four wheel suspension keeps the wheels planted firmly to the pavement under any condition you can throw at it. Inside is done in a beautiful matching dark blue vinyl with manual lock and windows, AM/FM radio, and neat fiber optic bulb outage warning lights. The seats, carpets, and dash are in as new condition, and all gauges are functional. This is one fun to drive, head turning classic Corvette. The look and sound don't get any better than this! This is a two owner, fully restored, matching numbers, investment grade Corvette. The engine recently received a complete rebuild with receipts. This beauty comes with the original window sticker, protect-o-plate, warranty booklet, service records and even a copy of the original title. It doesn't get any better than this!!
