"Firehawk", what a name, and on this awesome Trans Am definitely fits!! First a little history, GM contracted with SLP(Street Legal Performance) to build the "Firehawk" as a performance machine a step above it's own Trans Am WS6. SLP took T/A's directly off the line to a separate facility where they made many modifications. To increase the horsepower, SLP added their very own "Ram Air" custom fiberglass hood with intake scoops and separate ports to pull heat out of the cramped engine bay. The look of the SLP hood is more sleek than a factory WS6 hood. On the exhaust side, SLP added their own custom exhaust system to increase horsepower, and add that muscle car sound that scares the neighbors children. For handling, SLP added the cars namesake Firestone Firehawk tires on custom five spoke 17" aluminum wheels and heavy duty shock absorbers for more control. On the inside, you get embroidered floor mats to let you know that this isn't a run of the mill T/A. The Firehawk you see here has more performance goodies added. The intake has been replaced with a Corvette LS6 unit, a performance cam has been installed, headers for to make it sound extra nice, and a performance tune to make it all work together. All that power is routed through a 4-speed GM 4L60E automatic transmission with a performance stall converter to keep the engine in the power band at all times. Out back is a solid axle rear end with posi-traction to put that power to the ground and get it off the line. Inside is more luxurious than you would expect of a muscle car with power leather seats with adjustable lumbar support, power windows, lock, and mirrors, AM/FM/CD premium stereo, ice cold A/C, and removable T-tops to let the sun in! This is one awesome machine. It drives amazing, and will light the tires up with even the slightest throttle when the traction control is off.
