This charming Challenger is a runner and a stunner. Finished in gorgeous "Toxic" orange metallic with classic Mopar rallye wheels and white letter BFG's, this Challenger is a real head turner. The chrome and glass are in excellent condition, and all weatherstripping has been replaced. The fit and finish are better than what would have been in the showroom in 73', and the tinted windows and black vinyl on the hood really set off the orange paint. Inside this Challenger is a black vinyl interior with pretty much everything new or restored. The woodgrain on the console and doors helps to break up all the black and the two spoke steering wheel is the perfect one for this car. The seats have been re-foamed and recovered, carpets are new, dash pad is new, even the headliner is new. The radio is a modern solid-state AM/FM unit with the classic looks and plays through all new speakers. A tilt steering column has been added to make entry and egress easier. The factory gages have been swapped out to add a tach where the clock once resided, pretty trick. Under the hood is where the real money was spent, and this is one all out built small block. The 318CI V-8 has been rebuilt with Keith Black pistons in a .010 overbore size, Isky roller racing cam, Comp. cams pushrods, roller rockers, Edelbrock Aluminum cylinder heads, Edelbrock aluminum intake with 650cfm carburetor, and blackout Hooker headers. This mighty motor puts the power through a freshly rebuilt A904 Torqflite automatic and back to a 8 3/4in. Chrysler diff that has been converted to fully floating axles, sure grip, and a 3.55:1 rear gear. All this power is nothing without control, and to that end the suspension has been rebuilt with new shocks, bushings, ball joint, tie rods, and has Hotchtkiss sway bars front and rear. A five-leaf rear spring was added to help keep axle hop under control. Lest you think this is an uncomfortable race car, this orange beauty is easy to drive thanks to power front disc brakes, power steering, and even that ultimate option of options, ice cold air conditioning!
